Field Service Engineer Contract UK

We currently employ a large team of highly skilled technical consultants and IT experts that service our client business.

Due to current growth and expansion, Ergo is now seeking to recruit experienced Printer Engineers for flexible contract roles located across the UK, Scotland and Northern Ireland. We are therefore inviting suitably qualified candidates to submit an application for inclusion on our panel.

The primary duty of this role is to act as the Ergo point of contact for customers on client sites. This role will provide support for all printer hardware & associated software, including installation, configuration, maintenance and support of these devices.

Role Description

  • Responding to service calls on client sites based in local and surrounding areas
  • Resolving complex technical faults and maintaining regular communication with the Ergo helpdesk.
  • Developing and maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of Ergo products, services and solutions.
  • Highlighting any anomalies on our customer sites and ensuring a service ticket is opened.
  • Highlighting any opportunities on our customer sites and informing Ergo.
  • Assuming full ownership and responsibility of all allocated support tickets ensuring they are dealt with promptly and professionally and satisfactorily concluded
  • Ensuring strict adherence to SLA when dealing with customer tickets/calls
  • Maintaining confidentiality with regards to the information being processed, stored or accessed.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years relevant experience from a similar industry sector required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills required.
  • Printer repair and an understanding of process is essential.
  • Printer driver and connectivity, local & Network, experience is required
  • Some PC hardware/software experience required
  • Ability to support a 'variety' of device types, particularly HP, Kyocera and Xerox devices, both stand alone print and multi-function devices.
  • Flexibility and commitment to work outside of normal working hours is required
  • Excellent customer service & client interfacing skills essential
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills sought

Other information

It is highly likely that these roles will be offered on a self employed or contractor basis. Availability must be agreed in advance, based on client SLA time frames.
